User Instructions - Compass Help Files

You will be prompted to enter User Name and Password by the ID authenticator, which is your Northwestern University net ID and e-mail password. If you need assistance with your net ID or e-mail password, please contact the NU IT help desk at 847-491-HELP.

If this is your first time using Compass, select the New Users Link

.

Next, please read the "Terms and Conditions" page and click Yes to accept. Your user name is preset as your netid, and you should create your own password and fill out the rest of the form. If you get the error message " Portal Error - The record could not be saved", your account has already been set up and you should go back to the Compass link above, and after passing through the University ID authenticator, select the Returning User link

Once set up as a user, if you do not remember your password or get the " Portal Error - The User Name and Password you entered are not recognized", please contact Compass support at 630-928-7090.

Once you are logged into the system, please review and update all of your personal profile information, which you can find by clicking on "My Account " on the main page.
