Booking Changes due to Secure Flight

Due to the implementation of Secure Flight, more information will be required to book a flight for domestic or international travel.  Date of birth, full name and gender will be requested when you book a flight.  This information will be used by TSA to prescreen passengers against government watch lists.  Secure Flight is a program developed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in response to a key 9/11 Commission recommendation: uniform watch list matching by TSA.  TSA is taking over this responsibility from aircraft operators who, up until now, have been responsible for checking passengers against government watch lists.  Secure Flight will also apply to point-to-point international flights operated by U.S.-based aircraft operators.

Travel Notification Service

United Easy Update is a free service United offers that will alert travelers of pertinent information including flight information, cancellations, upgrades, gate locations, and any additional information. The alerts can be sent to your phone pager, fax or email. Sign up here.

A similar service that works on specific flights is offered by American Airlines.

Transfer Your Elite Status to United Airlines

United is offering a Corporate Status Match program that allows travelers to match their elite status on another airline with equivalent status in the United Mileage Plus program (up to Premier or Premier Executive). To apply for the Corporate Status Match program, please complete this application and email it to premierematch1@united.com.
