University Services offers a computer recycling program with free pick-up for all university-owned equipment.

If your computer is less than 5 years old and in working condition:

University Services maintains a Surplus Property Exchange which provides a forum for the exchange of University-owned equipment for use by other departments and schools. Before listing your computer equipment on the surplus property exchange or setting up a recycling pick-up, please:

View Accounting Services guidelines for equipment disposal.

View NUIT's policy on computer equipment disposal.

If your computer is more than 5 years old, broken, or below Pentium PC (or Mac Power) level, you should consider recycling it.

University Services will pick-up computer equipment for recycling free of charge. We will accept the following equipment for recycling: desktop computers, laptops, mice, monitors, keyboards, speakers, scanners, printers, fax machines, magnetic tape, and CDs (without cases).

Our recycling program ensures that all data on the hard drive is destroyed and the equipment is recycled in a way that is compliant with EPA standards.

Click here to schedule your computer equipment for pick-up.

If you have any questions about the program, contact Jeff Levin at 1-5993.

What about Copiers?

Any working copiers should first be listed on the surplus property exchange. If your department owns a copier that no longer works or was not claimed on the suprlus property exchange, Midwest Copier will pick up any make or model. Contact Ed Spriegel of Midwest Copier Exchange, LLC at 800-487-6798. If your copier is leased, contact Tom Luczkowiak.
