The brochure outlines all parking violations and ticketing offenses. A list of some common violations that may result in a ticket, a key card deactivated, or towing is provided below:
The Northwestern University Police Department enforces parking regulations and issues parking tickets. The Parking Office records the violations and tracks payment. If payment is not received, the individual's key card/WildCARD is subject to deactivation and their vehicle may be towed. Reactivation of key card/WildCARD will not occur until payment is received. The University Police and University Parking office reserve the right to deny or revoke parking privileges. The vehicle title/registration holder is responsible for all violations. Payments for parking violations are to be made at: Bursar's Office Fees can be paid in person or mailed. To ensure proper crediting, please bring or include the original parking ticket along with payment. Parking Violation Appeals Those issued a ticket have the right to appeal the ticket. Parking tickets must be appealed within ten (10) days of issuance. Parking Assessment Appeal forms are available at the Parking Office (Abbott Hall, Room 100), the University Police Office (211 E. Superior), or on-line. The form must be completed and returned to the Parking Office no later than 10 days after the ticket was issued, the Parking Appeals Committee will not review late appeals. The Parking Appeals Committee (comprised of faculty, staff and students) meets quarterly to review appeals received in previous months. A representative from the Parking Office attends the Parking Appeals meetings to answer any parking or enforcement questions the committee may have. After reviewing the appeal form and discussing the situation, the Appeals Committee reaches a decision and responds to the parker in writing. Decisions of the Committee are final.
